Tuskegee Airmen Motorcycle Club of Virginia
3rd Annual Ride for ChildSavers
May 31, 2008

The Tuskegee Airmen Motorcycle Club of Virginia sponsors the Third Annual Ride for ChildSavers on May 31, 2008.  Open registration and staging will be between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. at the Food Lion Plaza (located at 5700 Jefferson Davis Parkway, Richmond).  The motorcyclists will depart from Food Lion Plaza at 10:00 a.m. and ride through the city with a police escort, arriving at Chimborazo Park at 11:15 a.m. (located atop historic Church Hill at 32nd Street to 36th Street & Marshall Street). A special “thanks” to the clubs that have committed to come together as one to help bring “Hope and Healing” to youth.  Sponsoring Clubs will be on the banner and T-Shirt.  They will also be recognized by Tuskegee Airmen M/C and ChildSavers as 2008 Sponsors.  Riders wishing to make individual donations to ChildSavers can register the day of the event.

Tickets are now on sale for TAMC’s 3rd Anniversary Celebration.  The event will be held at the Military Retirees Club on May 31, 2008.

• Host a birthday party and request toys and books to be given to the children we serve
• Hold a bake sale and donate the proceeds to ChildSavers
• Hold a car wash and donate the proceeds to ChildSavers
• Hold a raffle or auction and donate the proceeds to ChildSavers
• Hold a gaming/sporting tournament and donate the proceeds to ChildSavers

Mary Poppins Sing-Along
at the Byrd Theatre in Carytown
October 20, 2007

This first-ever event of its kind to benefit ChildSavers drew hundreds of audience members of all ages, who enjoyed singing along to the irresistable and memorable songs from the 1964 classic Disney film Mary Poppins. Many attendees dressed in costume; children received goodie bags, and nine lucky winners had their names drawn for the door prizes!

Bon Air Artists' Association Art Affair: October 20 and 21, 2007

The fifteenth annual Art Affair was held outdoors at Stony Point Fashion Park. Art lovers and casual browsers alike enjoy this event every year, and we are pleased and grateful to be a part of it. Those who stopped by the ChildSavers tent had the opportunity to participate in family-friendly craft activities and learn more about our valuable services.

An Evening of High Fashion: Dana Buchman Event
October 23, 2007
Saks Fifth Avenue, Stony Point Fashion Park

Saks Fifth Avenue and ChildSavers welcomed designer Dana Buchman for an elegantly pleasurable evening of shopping, hors d'oeuvres, a fashion presentation featuring items from the Dana Buchman fall collection, and live music by the talented Steve Bassett and his jazz trio.

One lucky attendee purchased the winning raffle ticket and took home a certificate for a $1,000 Dana Buchman shopping spree! Proceeds from ticket sales benefited ChildSavers, and a percentage of the total sales of Dana Buchman merchandise during the days leading up to the event were donated to ChildSavers.

Sixteen teams and their fans enjoyed the Third Annual Aeron Office Hockey Tournament at the VCU Siegel Center on Thursday, September 6, 2007. This event was sponsored by Chasen's Business Interiors and HermanMiller, Inc.

An Aeron Hockey Tournament is best described as a networking event, a charity fundraiser, and a sports competition, all rolled into one action-packed evening. Hockey players zoom around the cubicle-wall rinks seated in HermanMiller’s ergonomically aggressive Aeron Chairs. This year's event featured an kids' activity area for the children, raffles, an emcee, food and beverages, and rockin' music.

We are pleased and proud to report that Los Tigres, the Capital One/ChildSavers team, took home the first-place trophy this year! Please visit our photo gallery for more photos from this high-energy event.
